A brief review.
Got it as soon as the link went up over an hour ago. Beautiful route. Stopped at Trenton to fly over and explore the rest and write this before completing my journey. Is it a photo realistic clone of the real thing? No, but it would be silly to think it would be. What it is though, a perfect interpretation of the NEC. I recognize each turn, station, and overall geography and a lot of the general scenery. The AEM-7 is beautiful, the in cab signaling is awesome and the signaling of the route impressive. Driving is a fun challenge. No bird watching, especially if you turn on speed protection. If I was to rate my expectations vs what was given to us on a scale of 1-10 I would give it a 11. I was very skeptical a team from across the Atlantic could recreate this route so well. Never doubting their talent, just doubting available resources. After all, this wasn't some 5 mile branch line, it was a 90 mile corridor done from scratch in a very short amount of time. Is there room for improvement? Absolutely. Did they do everything possible and within reason to do the route as close to the real deal as possible? From these eyes, yes. My favorite railfanning spots like Trenton, Princeton Junction, and Hamilton look the part enough I can railfan on my PC now. :) Job well done to every single guy and girl on team RSC who made this possible. Now.. I have angry passengers who need to get to New York. :)
