I assume the release date is someday in fall or winter, plus one week because of Steam. !*roll-laugh*! !*roll-laugh*!

No serious. I can't wait for it, but please take your time to make it good. This is more important for me than getting it fast.

I've been holding off starting a route I'd like to try; waiting for this update. *!rolleyes!*

Honestly I hope that RSC doesn't rush this and take their time and get it right. I'd rather wait till Jan. of 2012 for an update that works awesomely, than to have an update a few months from now that'll require many patches aftewards.

Yes Pam. This was announced to be a part of the technical update. No further information, yet.

Hi,
We have been working on some areas to do with terrain, but we have not implemented a finer grid.
There are huge implications and challenges to do this but it is an area we are keen to improve in the future.

For the most part you should feel comfortable to carry on as you are with your routes, I know I have not stopped work on my routes that I am building with the version everyone else has.

best regards

Derek

Would there be any improvements underway with the terrain painting tool?

I know that this is a massively late message and I wish I knew more about what Cascade Game Foundry is up to (or even if they are still in business) but I do recognize the game scene pictures on this thread. They are not random.

The pictures are from the northern approaches of the BNSF into Seattle, Washington. The bridge over the water is the crossing of the Salmon Bay entrance of the Lake Washington Ship Canal immediately west of the Hiram Chittenden Locks. The head on scene in the woods is probably of the BNSF line north of that bridge, possibly as far north as the Golden Gardens park in Seattle. The picture along the water is somewhere along the BNSF next to Puget Sound probably between Seattle and Edmonds, Washington. The building picture ironically is not a train station; it is the main building of Golden Gardens Park in Seattle, very near to the abovementioned BNSF line.

One can see all of these sites by taking the Amtrak Cascades or the Sounder commuter train between Seattle and Everett.
