I deleted about 6 routes and TS now starts with the Stainmore route installed. :D

The assets folder on my PC is a mere 18.8 GB. I guess it's an indication of how rarely I actually drive in this game though (it's probably been at least 6 months). How do you folks get the size so high?

I did remove most of the content folders to an outside folder though recently. I also rarely purchase payware nowadays, regardless of whether or not this sounds selfish or not.

If I want a quick drive, I'll play ATS instead.

Edit: The actual playing time according to Steam for TS is just under 3000 hours. But 98% of this time is spent with the editor open whilst I'm doing other things.

I suspect Steam tracks it regardless of whether there's any activity or not.

Having TS for 10 years and buying all new DLC that came out didn't help. I'm a bit pickier today though as to what I buy. I have just over 3,000 Hrs of playtime but don't play it so often these days.

Glad you got the route working Trev. Don't know if you have seen them but here are a couple of good scenarios available over at UKTrainsim based on the 1955 British Transport film "Snowdrift at Bleath Gill"

I have found nearly all lockups or failures to have related to the size of my Content/Routes folder, or iffy scenarios, usually from the Workshop.

My Assets is like yours, in excess of 400GB but I try and run my Contents/Routes with no more than 3 or 4 routes at a time, less even if I have a large number of scenarios in any of them. Quicker loading as well.

This is really interesting. I have a 138 routes currently in my library and I am not sure how to count the scenarios. My asset folder is 262GB and my Content folder is 73GB and my loading time doesn't seem to be all that much. Everything on my computer is on SSDs. All the TS is on one drive and the operating system and all the program files on another. My computer isn't exactly a rocket ship the cpu is a 3.5 i5. I've never had anything fail to load. Wonder if there is some sort of stealth pontrack lurking around there somewhere.

Buzz
First use windows search and in the \Content\Route folder search for scenarioProperties.xml - note the number, say 7000
Then search for scenarioProperties.xml.MD5 (say 3000)- note the number and take away from the first figure (7000 - 3000 = 4000) = number of scenarios on your build of TS2020.
There could be an easier way???

Remember TS only loads 1 route and 1 scenario at a time (irrespective of how many you have installed) but it can load several assets (for any given route/scenario) and that can affect loading and running (crashing???) times on occasion.
