Thanks for the offer Peter but I won't go back tell that certain person leaves. Yes, we are getting the smoke over here we have had a couple of days free of it but meant to get more today. Hope you are alright though. Where are you situated regards fires and how close are they?

Wow! that is a startling picture!
We are fine - smoke only. We are not in a bushfire zone. I guess the nearest fire is 10Km away!
We are seeing a lot of breathing issues due to the smoke.
But we are fortunate that our property is safe from fire, as safe as any property could be.
Regards and Best wishes for the New Year.

That is a shocking picture, to see the smoke well over 2000kms away is some fire. To put it in perspective for the US and we Europeans ....think of the fire being in Council Bluffs, NE and the photographer in Long Island, NY or the fire being in Yorkshire, UK and the photographer at the Russian border with Belarus.
A sad time for Australia.

Many thanks to all.
It is certainly a catastrophic fire season.
One fire ground (not contained - not life threatening) is the size of the United Kingdom or Oregon or Wyoming.
Kangaroo Island one third of the bush burnt. 130+ fires in NSW alone. (slightly larger than Texas)
Cooler weather may be on its way, and that will help. A hot 45 deg C today.
