I know this has been discussed before, but I would also like to see an answer. I also, have the original SH,and would like to get the turbine upgrade. I am not a fan of the Steam Forums,I get all my info from RWA.

Here's the scoop. If you don't have the NS Coal route (Penn Coal) then buy the Steam version of TS2016 and you will get that route plus the Turbine. By the way they updated the Sherman Hill with some nice new eye candy.

Thanks Buzz. That sounds like the definitive answer. I did not get the coal route yet.

Is there a way to buy Sherman Hill as a gift and give it to myself to get the Turbine? All I'm wanting is the Turbine.

When you buy TS 2016 Steam Edition your version of Sherman Hill will be updated to the newer version and you will also get the turbine. Here are the different versions you can buy from Steam. The bold is the one you want. When it says you already have Sherman Hill just keep on going to the purchase screen. Steam is just letting you know that you already own it.

Yes, the bold one is indeed the one I want, but I can't buy it. I can go to the cart, but the purchase button is grayed out. See below.

This is what is frustrating me. Every other DLC that has more content than the version I own is available for me to buy. I should be able to buy this one as well so I can add the Turbine. Or, they should just sell the Turbine by itself.

I wonder if anyone knows whether I can buy it as a gift and gift it to myself. I don't want to buy it as a gift and not be able to get it myself, though.

^ They really have to, sell the GTEL and BR155 as standalone DLC. Soldier Summit used to be exclusive to Epic Journeys and then was sold standalone.

If you already own the route you can't buy it stand alone. You have to buy it bundled with the 2016 Steam version of TS2016. So far that's the only way to get it. That's how I did it. Also, after it installed I unchecked Sherman Hill Route in the install check list. I let uninstall just that route then checked the box again to redownload the route and it was updated. hope this helps

I decided to take advantage of this sale to pick up some workshop freight wagon packs at half price. I've never tried buying multiple workshop packs before and doubt that I ever will again. First, I tried the in-game store, but that would only me to buy one pack at a time, which is equivalent to selecting one item at Wal-Mart, going through the checkout line, heading back into the store to select one item, and so on.
!*hp*!

Then, I tried the Steam site's version of the DLC shop, but that does not include workshop items. !*hp*! !*hp*! Thirdly, I tried the "Official Railworks Website", Workshop department: here again, the shopper can select one item at a time and then gets sent to the Steam purchase site, where it's necessary to put that item in his shopping cart: so now we've regressed to picking out a single item at Wal-Mart but having to check out at K-Mart.
**!!bang!!** !!bang!!

Finally, I found a slightly less frustrating solution that involved tabbing back and forth between the ORW and the Steam Store sites: similar to picking out one item in the store of your choice, taking it to a check-out counter, picking out another single item, taking it to the check-out counter, etc.
!*hp*! **!!bang!!**

Now all I have to do is wait another hour or so for my items to download. Do all British businesses operate like this?

I got the Steam edition. Is there an easy way to tell if Sherman Hill has been updated? I did a quick run but didn't see any difference. The ap file was updated in September so it may have updated with the free version. !*don-know!*

So, I put the Sherman Hill single route edition in my cart again just now, just to see what would happen again, and for some reason, the purchase for myself button was no longer grayed out. So, I just bought it and will be downloading in a moment and hopefully, the GTEL will now be part of my game. Keep your fingers crossed.

EDIT: It worked!!! GTEL now installed!

@OldProf (btw, I'm an old prof as well): what I do with the marketplace stuff is look it up in the web or steam interface store (web is easier) and add the ones I want to my wishlist. Then I can add as many as I want to the cart all at the same time and buy them together. It is odd how they make it hard to find the marketplace stuff through the interface or the web. I see no advantage to buying anything in game.

Wait.. so Sherman Hill isn't part of the free upgrade to 2016? I was under the impression that it was.

Nope. Whatever gave you that impression? It's hardly likely that DTG will give away a DLC route for free, is it? If you want Sherman Hill you have to buy it. You can obtain the TS2016 Steam Edition which includes SH, and the UP Turbine AND the NS Coal District route for about 11 bucks until Tuesday.

I already owned Sherman Hill. I remember reading conflicting information on whether it would be updated with the free or paid upgrade.

That's what I recall as well.. I purchased the original route so in theory it makes sense I would receive updates if there was one (like the update to the Coal District route recently).

I'm not complaining, I'm just trying to figure out if we did receive the update (how do I tell?) or if I do have to buy it again?
