Haven't gotten anything yet. Using the Denver server. Interesting...

I rebooted and got a third update, this one 3.7MB. Railworks posted the below message to Facebook.

To those who have reported missing scenarios on Barstow-San Bernadino: this should now be sorted, you will notice another smaller download from Steam with these scenarios restored. Thanks for your patience everyone. If you are still having any difficulties, please email support@railsimulator.com.

Got all the updates and virtually all the scenarios I've tried either result in an "SBHH" or a message about failing to load various assets. All the scenarios are there, they are just broken.

Well now I have everything back like it used to be. Does this download without you knowing?

My Barstow Route is completely pitch black now. Thanks RSC.

OK, got the update while I was driving home from work. Everything seems unaffected. I will need to confirm this, but NEC seems to play better. Perhaps a few FPS better and smoother. I will try to run the test tonight (same one I did for snowstorm).

I can also say that my route seems unaffected as well. This maybe because I made my own texture and terrain files and folders. Which also means that I need to figure out what needs to change to take advantage of the new updates... if available.

You are lucky then! Mine is still destroyed even after the real update came down. !*roll-laugh*! Going to restore my pre patch backup soon...

Do I need to keep steam up all night? It seems that this is downloading without the little download screen appearing or am I crazy?

eyein12 wrote:is the file structure the same? for barstow or any other default route? how about locos. can some one verfiy this is the same as before. IF so i'll take the plunge and get the update. thanks

Hi Ian,

I have half an hour to downalod yet, but what I saw: folders structures are the same, so far. I saw in many routes a new folder \ProceduralScenery* (looks like something will be used further), but not (yet) on BSB. I checked 3 default locos and the files are exactly the same, no minimal changes.

After download is completed I'll tell about the \raiworks\*.* folder changes (not the structure), so far no changes, even with the core engines (RailWorks.exe and RailWorksProc2.exe).**

Doc.

Edited Later (updated completed):
* nah! this kind of folder is older (already existing) in some routes, no news.
** no news also, same core engines (this is why version number is the same).

Guess I'm lucky this time. Everything seems good. I give it a !!*ok*!!

Default and Custom routes work, Scenarios, everything. Just had to re-install a few sounds and coupler/physics settings!

I too really like the changes to the routes, subtle, but much improved.

I'm back up and running, my buildings still work right, and I must say, the graphics are looking much better, even with tsx off and reduced to the lowest settings.

I'm now going to test running the route and make sure I still have decent frame rates.

....Edit...

I'm still getting great frame rates, actually they look better then before. That's a relief.

Machinist your handy batch file seems to work just fine for me with no adjustments needed. Have you seen any issues I may have missed?

My system downloaded something that took 2 hours, but my header on the main RW window still says "Train Simulator 2012 v11.7b (NET 4.0)" Did the service pack apply? The only thing I've noticed is the sim is deafly quite again and the engines sound like they've reverted back to the default sounds? My route and all of my third party routes are still accessible and I don't notice any missing scenery items.

Rich S.

I guess we have a fast connection - the download only took 10 minutes or so for me, with a peak rate of 5Mb/s.

And maybe it is my imagination, but I think I am also getting better FPS. I was able to switch from "Medium" to "High", and I still am getting reasonable FPS and minimal stutter (I have a GTX 460). I also tried a NEC and HSC free-roam scenario to see how well those play, and all of them seemed smoother.

With Cajon pass, the FPS was up around 30, which is enough so that the motion seems pretty fluid. HSC/NEC was lower - 15-20 or so.

There really isn't any change that makes use of multi-core however.

Yep, thats one of the minor things that happened here as well - sounds went back to default. An easy fix though, thats a relief!

And the version number (strangely!) isnt supposed to change, according to RSC:

"Please note everyone that there your version code number will not change with Service Pack 1."
