So, has anyone with the update tried running it in offline mode?

I found Dallas. The servers are not sorted in the Steam client listing.

This is frustrating... and if there was some competition on the market, RSC would feel the pain with things like this happening. When Run8's sim comes out it will be interesting. (I wasn't impressed with their video, though.) **!!2cents!!**

Until there is, we can always support the 3rd party creators instead of RSCs DLC.

@MontanaRails - Three Cheers!

@RSC Farcebook - Mission: Harass and Annoy.

My suggestion, and as far out as it sounds it's real, is for everyone to turn off their connection to Steam and refuse to go online except for once a year when we go from one version of TrainGame to the next. Make sure you have a backup of the previous version so if the next version doesn't work you can revert. At least that way, you can spend more time playing than fixing.

As far as buying from independent third-party creators, the problem will be if they have used any of RSC's stuff in their work, it will sooner or later be broken. My new standard support line for all of my downloads is " Don't gripe at me, RSC broke it!"

I haven't but will try though I don't see what good it would do as there are 2 important files missing that are listed in the PI file. The 2 blueprint files that everyone is wondering why they are red are missing.

Well I can tell you what my problem is....in the Package Manager, when I expand all the tabs in the Dash9 pack, the blueprints.spk and blueprints.spk.MD5 files are highlighted in red....Im pretty sure that means there's a problem. When I go to the folder on my HDD, the only files that show up are"_.sbn" and "_.sbn.MD5", the blueprint files are completely missing.

The blueprint files are cache files, and get deleted during updates and when you select to remove them via the launcher.

GeForce GTX460, just in case... I know, "everything is possible"...

I don't believe Steam is hosting different copies of the game in different servers. There is now a new P.O.I. (Point of Investigation, as we say in L. A. Noire *!greengrin!* ): the *.spk* thingy *!!wink!!*

They got included by accident, they're not important at all, unless the md5 of the blueprint file is what's screwing up the copy protection system. I'm not sure what happens if you attempt to use an unregistered DLC with steam online these days, which is why I've been asking for someone to try it offline & report.

( this is seperate to the screwy graphics issue which is RW's inbuilt copy protection ).

Haven't had a chance to see if mine are broken yet, but if they are, I'll just go back to Trainz until RSC gets everything sorted out.

I too found that my Dash 9 pack was missing. I too varified and found that 2500 files were missing. Revarified three times till 100% of the files had been installed, and guess what? My Dash 9's are AWOL. As far as I'm concerned, this is all B.S!!!!
I do not give a dern weather RSC or Steam screwed up. I paid good money for a virtual product, and I want that product back in my invintory. I want them to fix this problem, and even if I was computer savay enough do so, I do not see the need for me the consumer having to go into a bin file to fix this myself. What happens with the next so call update, are there more locomotives going AWOL?

Sorry if this throws fuel on the fire, but someone is going to say it sooner or later, and I wouldn't even be saying it if this weren't the fourth fubar in less than a year...

How many here think that we would have to be putting up with this garbage with every update if Steam had a refund policy that allowed for defective products to be deleted and money returned at either full cost for newer DLC, or pro-rated for how long you have had it up to a certain point? Panasonic cannot legally sell me a Blu-Ray player that will break after the first firmware update and then refuse to refund or replace it. There has got to be laws in the EU amd the U.S. that govern thus sort of thing.

It would have to come from RS.com and not Steam, since the Site Terms of Use for Valve/Steam seem to explicitly state they are not responsible for anything you download/purchase from them.

A quote from this link: http://www.valvesoftware.com/terms.html

That legaleze sounds good in theory, but I wonder how well it would hold up under Class-Action status? That seems to me like Wal-Mart denying me a refund for moldy bread because they don't own the bakery that made it.

To clarify my meaning though , I meant that I wonder if RSC would still be willing to release junk and break their existing DLC if they started having to give customer refunds out of their precious profits.
