Couple new images - its looking better. Not sure about those P42's in the second image (the right side Amtrak Train). I'm guessing they were just testing different rolling stock.

Is it just me, or do those highway lines look like they're about 2 feet wide?

P42's were around in the 90's, I think?

Woulda been F40PH's for the time period they're modeling, the Genesis series P40DC's had JUST come out in 1992, and if they still have the summit track then I doubt many of them would have gotten out there in time. I might be wrong though.

Ah thanks. I don't know too much about the 90s other than the Rio Grande and SP merged and then merged into UP, and my beloved Conrail was split the year I was born, 1998.

The P42DC was introduced in 1997. The P40DC in 1992. The DVD I got produced in 1993 shows the P40's leading the Cali Zephyr. And since the P42 and P40 are basically identical on the outside it'll have to do. I should take some screen captures of the Pentrex DVD I have so we can compare the route, lol. *!lol!*

It still looks like they haven't even done ROW texturing under the track, and it's just sorely lacking in the trackside detail that really immerses you into a route. Who knows though, they might be adding stuff at the last minute but I doubt it.

I don't understand why people are jumping all over this to criticize it so quickly! Not here for the most part, but I've seen a lot of negative comments floating around. Sheesh, I'm assuming these WIPs aren't even really all that fresh. Do you really think RSC would let this be released before it looks and functions well? I mean yeah, expect a bug or two, but for cryin' out loud, calm down and watch as they build it. Though I do hope they fix the tie length, I thought the release was set for the end of November, so they should have plenty of time to get around to that.

Its amusing. It reminds me of when Styckx was "inspecting" the progress of the NEC.

For the most part I am quiet proud of my self. I have held myself back from saying (or blogging) my theories, worries, hopes and general nitpicking about this route. Needless to say I will be buying this route.

But no-one seemed to have an issue with the GEVOs in the screenshot on the previous page.... !*don-know!*

(The route, as has been said previously, is set in 1993, GEVOs weren't introduced until the early 2000s....)

Haven't they said previously that different stock is being used to check clearances etc. I am pretty sure that if they didn't run all kinds of different (unprototypical) stock then there would be someone complaining that their GEVO/Challenger/Streetcar hits something somewhere along the line.

That said, some people will complain no matter what RS does.
