P42DC Genesis not available anymore ?

Hi all,

I noticed the P42DC Genesis is not on steam or at the official RS site anymore.

I have bought it last year and really enjoyed it. Is there an issue with RS2013 or is it *safe* to use ?

All of the G-TraX locomotives (NKP Berkshire, SP&S Northern, SP GS4, and Genesis P42DC) were pulled from Steam Store DLC last October when RW4/TST2013 update was released. Rick Grout pulled these locos off his G-TraX Web site as well at the same time over a design ownership issue that RSC was imposing, as near as I can tell from the Forum Discussions at the time. The word going around was that the old G-TraX assets were being reworked and would be re-issued in Steam Store when they were ready to compatibly run in RW4. But the two locos that I already owned run just fine as near as I could tell in the new environment already.

So far, all these fine locos have made it back into Steam Store DLC inventory save for the Genesis. I did purchased the SP&S Northern in the recent Summer Sale. Unfortunately, I just missed purchasing the Genesis from Steam Store when I tried a few days after the October update occurred last year. And of course, I had hoped that the newly announced WIP "Empire Builder" Addon would include the P42DC and the Amtrak train set, but I was disappointed that it will not. But I am certainly not complaining, since the Green and Orange GN F7 and streamlined car set will be just fine for me, thank you very much. Wow, a Super Dome!!!

No, if you have it, you have it. They just pulled it from sales is all. No clue why.

Thanks for all the info guys.

A few days ago I deleted all Steam / TS / RW stuff. When reinstalling using Steam the Genesis was reinstalled too. So it is like the BNSFdude above wrote, they are just pulled from sales.

There is no need to back it up for fear of losing it. Even if it is removed from sale permanently you will still be able to recover it if you have bought it and had to reinstall Railworks. The proof I have for this is all the IHH content I bought that was on Steam and then pulled from sale, that all installs again when after I delete everything.

I really wish I had gotten this cuz I had planned to. It just wasn't my highest priority since I'm far more an EMD fan than a GE fan. If it comes back, I'm all over it.
