HOLY CRAP. Emphasis on the CRAP

How the @&%# can they think this is right? IT DOESN"T EVEN LOOK LIKE THEY UPDATED ANY OF THE HUGE DETAIL FLAWS FOUND IN THE MODEL!!!!

The ONLY way I would buy this is if they updated the Challenger and Consolidation, AND gave us all 3 classes of UP FEF 4-8-4s with a 1940s-50s ized Sherman Hill. along with the Big Boy, Challenger, and Consolidation being remodeled with details to include:

Rivited tender sides, and updated detail on the fuel bunkers (coal boards and hoses and such)
more boiler detail. There is alot more detail that could be added, but is simply not there. IDK what it's called I think it's a steam generator, but the big thing by the cap on the fireman's side is not a big oil drum. It has pipes and bolts and such and is usually emitting steam.http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.p ... 51&nseq=61
http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.p ... 389&nseq=0
The rods need to be much wider.http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.p ... 51&nseq=96
There's so much more, (especially in cab) but yeah, All that applies to the Challenger AND Big Boy.

I try not to complain too much, but this is absolute Bull Crap. The least they could do is update the Big Boy if we bought it already, like with TS2013 and such.

!!bang!! !*not-ok*! !*not-ok*! !*not-ok*! *!mad!* *!mad!* *!mad!* **!!bang!!** **!!bang!!** **!!bang!!**

Oh, let's not forget how the boiler looks "lumpy" instead of smooth...

If RSC insists that we pay of this, I sincerely hope they offer those of us who have previously purchased the Big Boy a discount.

I agree that we should get it as a free update for the existing Big Boy, but that is is why I said that if they insist.

I'm going to leave this up for the moment but let's not get carried away people. If you want to vent go over and vent on their facebook page, or one of their forums.

Could be just a typo or it could not be final. I'll just have to wait and see.

FYI even tho it is announced it is not available as of a few minutes ago. You all realize of course that you don't have to buy the darn thing.

Has anyone contacted RSC support to get clarification? I'm afraid I am out of this, since I bought my BB from IHH so I can't complain. I do understand how this appears like RSC is double dipping.

I really hope it is a typo, or is poorly written, but after the whole EULA thing, I would not be surprised. I usually am an avid supporter of small developers such as RSC, for the main reason that they usually care about their customers, and listen to their customer base. If this turns out to be true, it just means that another developer has gone over my respect cliff and is no better than companies such as EA. I will most likely still buy their products, I will be honest, but I will have lost faith in RSC. Lets wait and see I guess. !*not-ok*!

I couldn't agree more.... I'll never understand the mentality of, that if one purchases something, they are owed a lifetime of free updates. If there is something wrong with the product, then of course it should be repaired (updated) at no additional charge. However, if there are significant improvements, I would not object to paying a reasonable additional fee. After all time and effort are/were required to accomplish the improvement/update and someone will end up paying for it, most likely the end user (like it or not).

BIG Boy V2 appears to me (from the Facebook images) to be an entirely new model, if not a vast improvement to the current asset. As such they can and probably will charge for it. If you don't like it, don't buy it, it that simple. Personally, I'm looking forward to BBv2 and will in all likelihood spring for it (and the Challenger) when it becomes available. It looks really super and it appears to be a vast improvement over the current BB.

I have both the current Big Boy and Challenger and they function adequately in TS2013 on my system. Do I think that certain things could be improved? Yes, but these inadequacies do not impair the operation of this model. I look forward to these update be they free or not.

Just my **!!2cents!!** **!!2cents!!**

I suppose it could be argued that the Donner add-on be made available at no charge for those who already own it, after all, much of the community complained about one error or another (horrendous grade changes, 2nd-rate scenery, etc.), but IMHO, the Big Boy and Challenger being made available for a fee is reasonable. Except for some minor flaws, few complained about these add-ons, and RSC didn't have to bring these in-house for the TS2013 update. Had they left the files alone on Steam, I doubt many would notice. Updating the files takes hours of work, and these hours need to be compensated.

The Donner add-on is a strange duck though, as it' looks completely new from the ground up (at least it appears that way from the screens). Thus I wouldn't mind paying a small fee for the upgrade, but I wouldn't re-purchase the add-on if at full price, as there's not much to do except mainly drive from one end to the other.
Cheers!

My problem with having to pay for the big boy again, if I want it, is that as of right now I have not seen these "major" improvements from the facebook pics. Only time will tell if there are these major improvements, and only then will I consider repurchasing.

Please don't give RSC ideas. Donner was nearly a turning point for me.
