Mullan Pass without a doubt. The others would be boring.

Out of all of the routes advertised, I'd prefer to see the winning European route, LGV Nord. I think it's time we get a TGV into railworks and a dedicated route. My choice for US Routes is Mullan Pass, there is just something about BNSF/MRL Unit coal and grain trains. Unfortunately, at the moment, the Chicago 'L' Elevated line is winning there. *!sad!* In the US I would really love to see Metro North's routes with the P32AC-DM locomotives made.

No need to worry. I see several routes in progress here which (when released) should keep us busy for quite a while.

After a discussion with PapaXpress, apprently my original post offended somebody. So I took out the stuff that may have offended somebody and reposting it....

SO FOR THE PUBLIC RECORD... MY vote is for the Surfliner route for the US routes. That's partly out of bias cuz I live in Santa Barbara county on the coastal route. The other reason is because it''s along a very pretty coastline on the Pacific Ocean with the channel Islands just off the coast and a few oil platforms in the channel.

My rankings beyond that.....

#2 Mullan Pass ---- Cuz it's a beautiful steep mountain route. That's my "slow and steady freight up a grade" bias in me.

#3 Colton Crossing ---- Cuz it's in California and a decent spot. Not sure why they chose it though. It's basically a crossing of the UP and BNSF railroads with metrolink service. But it's a spot, not a big subdivision area or route. Curious to what they would do with it.

Those not familiar with it, here's the wiki page:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colton_Crossing

#4 Chicago CTA "L" --- Just cuz the remaining route sounds small and this is likely larger. Not too much into commuter train stuff.

#5 Black Thunder Mine ---- Cuz I need to see the details and the size of this route. If it "pans" out (pun intended) !*roll-laugh*! , this will switch places with Chicago.

As for the UK and European routes? Since I care little about routes outside the US, this is kinda tough. But if I had to pick.....

Manchester to Liverpool --- Why? Cuz it's a route that's NOT in the general area of London and it's more north. Need to change things up. I'd LOVE if they did the route that goes over the Forth Bridge cuz It's kind of a cool and long railroad bridge. There is a youtube video cab ride going over it.

For those clueless about this bridge.....

As for the last pick? Either LGV route is fine or any Japanese route since we don't have routes from France or Japan currently. Germany has already gotten some love.

With the hustle and bustle of downtown Chicago, It would be intresting how accurate the route would look.
Buildings, car-trucks, people, signage. Sort of reminds me of the fine game Mafia2 with me operating the CTA elevated.

Gotta have the ear splitting sound of the cars rounding a curve through the loop.

There is a disclaimer on the polls that some seem to be missing: "We can’t guarantee that we will make any of these BUT this is your chance to convince us! Thank you for joining in."

I just found out on another forum that there IS a route for railworks going over the Forth Bridge. So I'll quote him...

Just Trains have already done the route over the Forth Rail Bridge, from Edinburgh to Dundee.

I'd like the Chicago line. We already have too much BNSF/UP stuff bc it's easy to make I think. It's pre-licensed with RSC and scenery in the midwest is easier than on the east or far west coast.. More east coast stuff..

I'm only familiar with three of the US routes...

Pacific Surfliner - Difficult due to the dense urban area - even the LA to Santa Barbra section is fairly dense up through Simi Valley. They could do Oceanside to San Diego to include Coaster, or maybe wimp-out and do Fullerton to SJ Capistrano.
Black Thunder Mine - Somewhat boring section on the Orin PRB in Wyoming (there are now three BT mines - BT, BT South and BT West). Three and four-track main with virtually no switching whatsoever. Lots of traffic, albeit with only one commodity.
Colton Crossing - West? Does this mean the Alhambra sub, or is it just the crossing and possibly West Colton yard? Not much switching, except the few areas just east and west of the yard.
Cheers!

Aw man,
I am 44 with Facebook and a Xbox controler (wich I dont use). Hey thats ok, If I can get grouped to the 20 years time frame, I would not have grey hair ! !*roll-laugh*! !*roll-laugh*!
Really, If I had my wish, I would go with the Bessemer and Lake Erie. 200 miles of tracks from Lake Erie to North Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, pulling long heavy loads of Coal, scrap, finished steel products and Iron Ore (taconite), with transfers with all the major railroads in the area and decent amount of branch lines and industry to work with.

Just my thoughts.

Glenn !!*ok*!!
