Question...

I had originally planned to purchase 2013, but somehow I (probably screwed something up) ended up getting the "free update'. On top of which… I did not have a successful update. I ended up with an assortment of small problems.

At the time, I had two verifications... each with corrected data, but the problems still existed. No big deal, I would rectify later. However, the next day, my Dell caught a virus and was out to the shop for the better part of the week.

Now with this 'Deluxe announcement', and the Dell back from the shop, I'm seriously considering this purchase. So what do I need to do regarding the existing (updated) 2013 installation so that I will have a successful installation of 2013 deluxe? I can't find any specific info at the Steam or RS sites.

Will Steam automatically uninstall the existing 2013 updated version and install the new deluxe version? Or is it an uninstall exercise that I need to do before hand?

Any light shed on this issue will be greatly appreciated.

If you got the free upgrade from 2012 you need to re-install it first and then you can get the deluxe version as a upgrade for the lower price.

Just go myself the Munich - Augsburg for Euros 12. The previous buy of Sherman Hill was rather more expensive.

Anyway, Steam downloaded a lot of stuff, almost 1.2 Gigs.
New core files, new stuff for the F40PH, route 35 (Sherman Hill), the new route 36 (M-A) and a new ICE3 Pack (which I didn't think I have bought previously, perhaps it comes with M-A?) and finally a lot of small bits and pieces here and there.

Whats different on the F40PH?

That's not easy to find out amidst the hundreds of folders and thousands of files that appear in the Windows Explorer search by date (2012-10-10) window on my computer.
It seems to me only the asset folder has been timestamped, I could only find a loco information file folder and a png contained within it.
So it seems no major update to shape or simulation files have been made.
At least on my computer, tomorrow I will update the other Steam installs.

Your mileage may vary of course.

So am I reading this right that there is a scenario for the F40PH in the Sherman Hill route? I don't really have much interest in the Euro stuff.

I looked at this yesterday and decided $16 wasn't too much for a new route and some rolling stock. When I loaded the description screen to look at what all was included, Steam said I already own the Deluxe version. Had to chuckle at this. I did purchase the full 2013 package when it was offered on pre-release, but don't have the other stuff. I'll look at it again today and might attempt a purchase and see what happens.

@AaronB : Yes, same as you, I got the other recent TS2013 version (the one with the Sherman Hill, London to Brighton, Isle of Wight and NEC routes), which I figured was a good deal considering all of those routes it included), and seeing that this new "Deluxe" version comes with the Munich route along with the ICE3 trainset addon, I decided that for around $16 USD it was a good price just for getting those two items (individually it would cost a lot more), so I decided to go ahead and get it. So though I don't get what I already had (thus the big discounted price it gave me, as it recognizes I already for the previous version), I now have the Munich route and ICE3 to enjoy now. :D

I also opted for the "Delux" upgrade and now have the Munich/Augsburg route plus the ICE3. As I don't have the Cologne/Dusseldorf, I'm wondering if the ICE 3 came with the original activities for that route, and if I purchase it (Cologne/Dusseldorf) at a later date, will the activities show up?

Sorry, Buzz, if I raised a false hope. There were some small updates to both the F40PH pack and the Sherman Hill route folder done to my Steam install.
Each user's install is different due to different content, frequency of use etc.

RW_Tools didn't show any new scenarios with the F40PH on Sherman Hill.
They will show up quick enough in the Steam Workshop I think.
A chance too good to be missed since both Laramie and Cheyenne have station buildings and a platform on the house track.
You can write realistic point to point scenarios using this route.

I ran a Quick Drive on the SH with the F40PH and it worked just fine, especially since like you said Cheyenne and Laramie are the only passenger stations on the route.

I opted to purchase the Deluxe content today and all went as expected. No glitches. When I opened the info page, it no longer said that I owned the Deluxe version. Heck, I already knew that.

Being interested in the ICE-3, one of the first things I did after the update was to clear my cache, and then run a couple of scenarios, one on the Munich line, and one on the NEC. Very cool. Never did get to the 280 mph speed limit though. *!lol!*

I guess I am going to have to start fiddling with the new features. *!greengrin!*
