SOO LINE V3 to be released tomorrow!!

Unread postby eyein12 » Thu Feb 24, 2011 4:57 pm

just needs to pass the beta testing, and i"ll upload it. Still will be donationware. However everything from this point on will be new projects, unrelelated to this route, freeware with your option to donate whatever you think the projects are worth. No minimum requirements or anything like that. donations are for charity. i will include everything in this download to make the route run seamless as a stand-alone version!

version 3 is a final release and will NOT be updated further unless theres something catastrophic that needs to be fixed. the route is a "completed route" including the ICE sub from nahant to east clinton yard. the IAIS connection and BNSF rock island connection is complete as well.

99%
scenery
traffic
markers
portals
transfer points
track crossings
signals

the Government bridge is animated to open for 2 mins and stay closed 8 mins to allow passing. Its a rough method of animation since i need dummy track but would rather someone to supply them. but i will wait until someone can get them to me.

need to impliment a couple of minor things and scenario builders should be able to create scenarios for this route.

hope you enjoyed this route, I finally get to run it myself now lol! regards
Ian

Great news.

Will you be issuing links for what we need to download if we already have v2?

Many thanks

OK great - look forward to the release.

Do I also need a newer version of the donationware?

If so how do I get this?

Downloaded fine.

Running ok under my version 114 separate install of this and a couple of US routes that won't run in my main install.

Only issue is that every time I try to update to v116 via steam everything fails with a Line 113 Exception Error so guess I will have to stay with v114 for this.

Will have a run in the next day or so having set up a consist at Nahant Yard.

the route is pretty good but i did find some minor problems.

1. the crossing gates need to be updated to the latest version from SMM digital because these ones have got problems.

2. you CAN'T rely on the speedposts to give correct readings or to be in the correct places. there are alot of places where i am going on a 60MPH area and suddenly out of nowhere the line speed is 40MPH or 30MPH.

pretty good? ok maybe your missing scenery items

about those crossings they are updated i guess i wasnt able to get the textures out of the source. just go to smmdigital.net and re-download them, if your referring to "stoppign traffic" then thats my error i was tryign to get the gizmos to line up obviously didnt work.

speed posts are crap i dont know why they dont work. but the signals at least have working speed limits so i will go back over it later. I dont know if the crossings are problematic for everyoen if so i have to reupload those.

no i am not missing scenery items, i am just not too much of a fan of "flat land" railroading, i prefer mountains. the crossings actually go up about mid train and the sound also quits, unlike the ones i have for every other route. i really like the assets for the route, i can't wait to see what you have next in line!

Running a full updated railworks 2 and have no problems at all. Exept the changing speeds
out of nowhere. I do have problems with the default freeroam acts as the give errors on missing
stock. Route looks verry nice.

I've downloaded and installed this version, but I can't find a list of the rolling stock required for the scenarios, and where to get it from - does anyone have a list?
Alan

My railway photos are back - you can access them from this thread viewtopic.php?f=24&t=21667a . Lots of UK steam and early diesels from the late 1950s and early 1960s.

I am working on a route schematic but need a few more weeks to get it done after the last update.

It would be great to have a GP38 and GP9 in DME/ICE colors to go along with the SD40's in the Obo's Catalog. Here is a great website with lots of pictures in the "Detailed Roster" section that might help the Paint Shop.

http://www.illinirail.com/icerail/

It also has some great operational info and a system map. I guess this line is all Canadian Pacific power today???
