Just click the "Members" link below the search bar. 730 members, but 421 of them haven't posted at all. So 42% of members here have posted. 54 have made one post. Shall I continue?

To be fair, most people only post when they have a problem - ie 'what do I do in this situation' and otherwise just get on and play the game. I don't have the skills to create stuff, I mostly read the discussions and keep upto date with what is going on and the new routes, etc being developed.

Lets be honest most of the forums at 'the other place' can count on less than 15 active members. More often than not most threads are a dialogue between a couple of hardcore posters.

I've been here a while and the forums are getting more active, more people are joining and posting - small acorns etc

I bought RW when it was on sale at Steam. Love the program, and I am still studying it. My motivation was that I had to pack up my N scale layout for the winter, and don't think my two sons (4 and 2) and I could stand not having something running on rails. So far its only part way paid off, they miss the magic of walking around the layout and seeing all the "little things" work. For me I think it was a great purchase, and I will be looking into getting some of the content from allaboardrails.com as soon as the budget permits.

I have a few gripes, but most have already been mentioned in other threads (the horn, colliding with invisible objects, etc...) so I won't drag them on here.

I'm a new member. Hi all!

Not sure I'll be posting much. I'm a member of more forums then I care to think about. I love simulators, boats, cars, aircraft, spacecraft and trains. Although I don't have the SIMS. I'm also on forums for model trains as well. A few years ago I created my own route for RS but never uploaded it anywhere. I may give route creation a try again.

It is really nice to see this website gaining more members. Lots of new stuff being created, too. Only other game related Forum I go to is Steam (well, and my own Forum which has a gaming section) So welcome to all the new folks!

Very good Chris and we do thank the efforts of Chris and Erik and many others who promote RWA and IMO are the real reasons why RWA is growing as quickly as it is. Ed and I certainly haven't done much to promote RWA to the online community and there have been many times where we wondered who or how this growth is happening. So we thank you guys for all the effort in your selfless promotions of RWA.

And to the new members, a big thanks for joining and welcome aboard!

What we try to do with these forums is to keep the angst down. To the new folks Ed has a very simple rule. Keep it civil whether its discussion towards each other or toward the game, or towards the company and its employees. Rarely has Ed or myself had to intrude on you'all's discussions, and that's perfect as far as I'm concerned. Ironically it's funny to me that we're known as one of the most heavily moderated forums for Railworks but yet very little moderating has taken place. That's a testimony to you guys.

BTW, I don't know if you know this or not but Ed goes to a lot of trouble to filter out trouble before it gets here. I'm no internet guru so half the time I don't know what he's talking about. But his system for registering people has been working out great.

Hello All,

I am a new member. I have had my eye on Railworks since if first came out and have had my eye on Trainz for years, but the price kept me away. When I saw that Steam was offering Railworks at half price in October, I finally had to throw in the towel and buy the software.
I prefer railroad simulation over traditional model railroading mostly for my love of computers and space. Though I have loved and admired model railroading all my life, I never built my own due to space requirements. In addition, the idea of driving a model train on a 4'x8' circle of track, for instance, seemed boring to me. The ability to simulate driving a train over miles and miles of track is what attracts me most to Railworks. I hope to create a route someday soon.

I'd like to throw my hat into the ring as well.

I bought Railworks 2 while it was on sale as well. I was about to buy it when I heard that it would be updated and decided to wait, and was pleasantly surprised when it was put on sale.

In the past I have traveled in Mexico by train plan/hope to reskin some SD-38's or SD-40 (the exterior looks the same to me) to the old blue and orange FNM colors. I'd love to model and/or the Copper Canyon or Puebla to Oaxaca lines. The Puebla to Oaxaca line was abandoned in the mid 90's due to track maintenance costs - It was a fantastic journey that climbed from oak woodlands to high dessert and down a rugged/remote river canyon to the sub-tropics though sugar cane fields to the city of Oaxaca.

Anyways. Back on subject. I am new here and have been enjoying Railworks very much. I'm just getting started, and have enjoyed running routes; but, have yet to model or create a route. I appreciate the tutorials and intend to devote some time in the future to learn and create.

Okay, okay , i can take a hint i guess i am a lurker as well so i am posting. Hi to everyone, Was an old MSTS driver but gave it away when Rich was expanding Canton into Suddenly i think. Anyways had an itch for awhile and when browsing saw the Great works Rich and many others were doing in Railworks decided to try again, so far so good lots of enjoyment. Regards to all. Pete
