Deleting Routes

Unread postby railduffer » Sun May 05, 2013 9:13 am

For some reason I am under the impression European Routes cannot (or should not) be deleted from RS. With apologies to our British friends, I never run these routes, so I see no reason to keep them. Will I damage the game by deleting the European Routes?

No you will not, however certain assets from them are used in some USA stuff so you may find some problems with some things. I suggest you take them out and store them somewhere so if you discover a problem they are easily recovered. Remember you can always verify the files in case something goes wrong by removing stuff.

Not sure what you would gain. Disk space isn't as expensive as it used to be.
Besides, every time you do a verify, the routes would be downloaded again, leading to loss of time and possibly bandwidth costs.

That is so true about the verify. I hadn't thought about that. About the only thing you get is a faster load.

Thanks everyone. Remembering my friend Murphy and his law, I guess I'll just leave it alone.
