My last Trainz was a 2009 version and main problem of this game is that the core of that engine is almost 10 years old now. Yes they made a lots of updates (not free as RSC do), but stil had poor optimalisation. Graphics was slow even on decent hardware, no support for multicore systems, no modern graphics effects. People made stunning models but this graphic engine killed their work. I had one payware route that has stunning scenery, but it was ultimate framerate killer. On same machine other games full details, without probelms! !*roll-laugh*!
Railworks now is far better than the best addons I had on Trainz. Trainz is nice game, for me a bit play with toys than sim, but hours in Surveyor are great relax and something to do for people who can't build their own model railroad in their small rooms, You know. But it REALLY NEEDS new game engine, build for our todays hardware. That's it :)
Yes it contains multiplay, but i don't care about it much. I hope someone, rather RSC of course, will do a multiplay or real time work sharing system for route editor. Just imagine, You with few mates building something together and chatting on teamspeak. !*cheers*!

Huh, I'm running off topic a bit, sorry. *!greengrin!*

Just for the record, I've noticed a few cosmetic improvements, the best of which in my opinion is that the message boxes that pop up due to scenario instructions have been adjusted. I'm working on an elaborate switching scenario for Munich-Augsburg. For a while, text in those message boxes was looking strange, with punctuation marks and single letters of words being thrown to a separate line, but now they're fine again. Another example is that the Steam Workshop page has been redesigned. I'm sure that there are others that I haven't seen yet. Small changes such as these often go unnoticed, but they are useful.
