RSC GP9 and Steam

Unread postby plicpriest1 » Thu Aug 16, 2012 6:18 pm

Hello all,

So here is my issue: purchased the GP9 from steam DLC. Went to play the scenarios. Got broken consist stating that I did not have the GP9 (I guess was originally created for RS2). Okay I thought I will just uninstall it and reinstall it (makes sense right?). Now for the hard part: Cannot reinstall the GP9! I went to steam and it says I already own it. Knew that. However I cannot find anywhere to reinstall it. So my issue is 2 fold:
1. how to reinstall downloaded softwhere from Steam
2. If I do ever get this thing reinstalled how will I get it to work if I get the same problem

Oh and while I am at it (sure it has already been adressed somewhere): how do I install files that end with .rar or .7z?

Thanx much

1. Probably does not have to be re-installed... Try Clearing the Blueprint Cache. Click on Tools and Docs tab on the Start Screen and Clear Cache.

2. Same as above. I almost always Clear the Blueprint Cache before Starting TS2012.

7zip available on the net unzips anything and there is a freeware version.

Hope this helps.

Hay thanx.

Just tried the blueprint cache. Still not seeing it in my package manager. Im guessing that it needs to be reinstalled though the .ncf file still exists in steam apps. I wonder is there anything I can do with that file to get this thing up and running again? Tried using package manager to install it but it is not recognized. Tears.

Any other ideas? Im open to any.

You need to go into your Steam library and verfiy the intergraty of the local cache. This will reinstall any missing files that have been downloaded through Steam.

Open steam;Right-click TS2012,and select properties, and then local files. Then verify cache.
Your GP9'S should magically reappear.
