DLC Exchange

Unread postby Cardinal51 » Sat Jul 28, 2012 8:02 am

I have a never used additional Steam Gift Code for TS2012 available (make a mistake when buying some DLC the other day
). But I already have TS2012.

I would like to make a trade for any other Steam Gift DLC for TS2012.

I am mainly interested in US stuff.

Your best bet there would be to contact steam directly. perhaps they could reset your purchases to reflect a different dlc..

You can't refund / exchange anything you buy on Steam with another item. Against the terms and conditions.

Steam Refund Policy

As with most downloadable software products, we do not offer refunds for purchases made through Steam - please review Section 4 of the Steam Subscriber Agreement for more information.

Steam Subscriber Agreement
Steam Subscriber Agreement

An exception is made for games purchased during a pre-order period if the request is received prior to the games' release date.

And if it's a gift code for Railworks (look in your Item Inventory) I don't think you can trade someone for DLC since RSC never gives out gifts over Steam (they will send you [via Email] a product key you activate). Unless someone bought the same thing. But if you open a ticket it's not unheard of for someone at Steam to refund you the total price at time of purchase (it goes in your 'Steam Wallet') for someones first accident..

Looks like there is some miscommunication because of course those rules do not apply to my situation. I have a gift for Steam TS2012 in my Steam account and just want to give that to some one. That is excatly how Steam meant it to be and that is why you can not just buy DLC for yourself but also as a gift. The only thing I am doing is using an official service.

Steum rules wrote:When you purchase a game on Steam, we offer the option to “gift” the item to anyone you choose, whether or not the recipient is a current Steam user.

So I can decide who I give it too. In case there are no takers I think I will tell PX or Hawk they can use it as donationware.

Cardinal, you can only "gift" a game to someone that doesn't have it. So someone you know, you can gift it them to their E Mail, or if they are a friend on Steam, gift it that way. It's usually easier to do it by e mail.

Or, if you want a real exchange, Steam has a section where you can ask if someone wants to exchange RW for another game you want.

Let me try to explain myself a little bit better:

I have Steam TS2012, I also have a second "copy" which I purchased as a Steam gift but did not give to anyone yet.

So assume you do not have TS2012 yet or want it cheap or want me to give it to a friend of you.

In that case just get me some DLC, for instance the "RailWorks SD40-2 Burlington Northern Add-on".

In return I will give you TS2012.

In the end you will have TS2012 for only 5 US$ !

I understand, but Steam will not let you send someone a gift of a game they already have. I presume most of us here already have TS2012. *!!wink!!*
