I feel your pain brother. I got it during March Madness and regretted it ever since. Horrible nasty frame rate and speed limits change with littele to no warning.

NEC and Donner Pass need serious work and get crap framerate on my PC, all other routes are fine. It was so bad I was beginning to think my PC just couldn't handle the game at all. Then I realized it was just those 2 routes

All of the above, plus the speed limits are too slow to even hope of running a realistic timetable, especially the Acela Express.

It does seem to be one of the worst performing routes and was actually worse before the Feb 9 core update, when they did a bit of optimisation. You could give the tweaks styckx posted to uktrainsim a try - they improved performance in my case. But even a 100% improvement, let alone 12%, would not do much good if your starting point is 5 FPS *!lol!*

Speed limits on the NEC between NYP and PHL are max at 135mph for the Acela and 125mph for the AEM-7. Due to the fact the catenary is the same the PRR installed in the early 1920's. I think they set the times in the scenarios WAY to close for what the NEC really is. I don't own the Acela, but if they didn't raise the limts then there's no way you can do the timetable. *!lol!*

And I agree with everything said so far. Before TS2012 update 10-30fps (playable). Now 5-15fps (grrrrrrr).

Well I got the red lights edited out, that seems to boost FPS considerably, but I can't figure out how to open the .bin file to edit the loco headlight shadows. I've tried MagicISO and it won't open the file to convert it to an ISO to edit. I've tried XVI (text binary editor) but I'm having a hard time distinguishing binary code. Guess that's one file I'm not editing *!lol!*

Invest in RW-tools. Best bargain for the bucks and you can get a trial version.

Because RW .bin files are not cd/dvd images. Open them in RWTools instead.

Yep, but ingame, the speed limit (and AEM-7 capability) maxes out at 120mph.

I made the mistake of buying NEC and Acela a couple months back. It was such a waste of money because it runs so poorly. The game is just poorly coded.

Try the fix above. It fixed mine from a performance standpoint
