RSC BNSF SD75 Disappointment!

Unread postby nosloptrianman » Sun May 27, 2012 11:30 pm

First off, NO, this NOT an attempt to start a WAR.
I am just FEED UP with the "issues" this content presents when it comes to ACCURACY and making things AUTHENTIC.
WOW!
$19.99 for what?
The first "mistake" I found, and I got a good laugh, was in the files for the SD75I and the one named BSNF
That's right folks, BS and then NF !*roll-laugh*!
By now we all know they used the WRONG CAB !DUH! for this locomotive and that in and of itself makes me SORELY disappointed.
The paint is WRONG is too many ways to count on these locomotives too !*not-ok*!
Imagine what some of us could do with the right tools and the correct KNOWLEDGE of the U.S. rolling stock.
I bet, since we could get it "right", we wouldn't be able to produce it fast enough to keep everyone happy.
Come on man!
I do reskining and find nothing but OBSTACLES to work around.
Templates with REVERSE IMAGING and parts cut in to, it seems, a MILLION pieces, all of which, BTW, are NOT logically linked together.
I find it HYSTERICAL that "they" do NOT encourage reverse engineering of the their products.
NO, I am NOT reverse engineering anything. !DUH!
I am just reskining what is there, and in the process, following "their" rules to the L.E.T.T.E.R.
There is so much all ready REVERSED in their product that trying to move forward is nearly impossible.
It is unreal that all of our suggestions and knowledge based ideas fall on "their" deaf ears.
Again I say, what a disappointment.
If I had all the money in the world, I would sure give these "boys" a run for their money.
Alas, I have to settle for what is there.
Don't get me wrong, I will be happy to "make the best of it", but if this SD75 BS....NF unit is an indication of things to come, don't hold your breath.
I am blue enough the way it is.
Have a SAFE Memorial Day and don't forget to HONOR THE MEMORY of someone special.
Take care of each other.

Yep.
Those two are wrong for sure.
For one, the yellow reflective stripes, below the handrails are too FEW and incorrectly placed.
They are never painted UNDER the spot where the handrail attaches to the locomotive.
That is just for starters.
I am so let down by this unit and them referencing it as the BS...NF file just sent me over the "edge" of frustration.
I still find it comical, however, that it is named BSNF.

It took me a second to realize that you didn't say BNSF.
Burlington Santa Northern Fe? Let's just be glad they didn't name the railroad like that when they merged. *!!wink!!*

The sounds are what bothered me the most. I cannot stand the fact that they re-used the SD70ACe horn. As for the paint and trucks, I never noticed until people pointed them out to me. I guess I shouldn't have listened because they're starting to bug me, even.

Just remember that RSC does not frequent this site often. If you want to be heard you need to send them an email.

As for the cab...lets just be thankful that we got a pretty much 100% functioning cab with all the gauges n stuff. !*roll-laugh*!

My point is to say, HEY, some of us DO PAY ATTENTION to the details.
I really don't feel it is too much to ask to at least TRY and get some of the major points correct, like the cab, for instance.
I am grateful that we even have someone that was willing to keep the simulation "alive" as it were, however, there is no shame in getting the details correct.
If it wasn't for all the wonderful folks here who have improved the product with their reskins and finding "workarounds" for issues that come up, then who knows where we would be.
I, for one, will keep sending the emails and keep providing POSITIVE FEEDBACK so it CAN be improved upon.
I am more than willing to step up and HELP, but can only do that when they are willing to LISTEN.
Can I do better?
Who knows?
I do know that as a community we have ALL made it better over time.
I think that is all that anyone wants.
Just listen and appreciate that there is a WORLD of folks out here who know the details and can help get it correct.
That's it.
Just listen :D
Take care of each other.

Exactly! This thread is just beating a dead horse into even more of a pulp then has been done in other topics *!rolleyes!* . I think we all have the idea already that RSC has messed up this DLC, and there have been problems in the past with other DLC, its time to get over it! Life is too short to be worrying over a computer program, there are more things to life.
