Selecting locomotive from map

Hi guys!

I notice that I end up running a train to one end of the Ft. Kent - Eagle Lake and then decide I want to switch to another engine back at the yard on the other end of the railroad. Is there a way to do this through the map view? I'm not able to use the world view "hotkey 8" because that has a limit from where the locomotive is I am currently in.

Nope, as far as I know there's no way to change locomotives other than clicking on them in the "8" view. This has bugged me to no end when I'm trying to explore a route in free roam. It's just yet another thing that's so obvious RSC never thought of it.

That is unfortunate. It seems one of the few fatal bugs that Railworks has. Other than that, it's the perfect simulator, imo.

Oh well, at least they're working towards some fixes. Hopefully soon we'll get some news

well what i would do if i were you is i would send in a ticket to RSC and let them know about this idea and maby a few months down the road we might see it? also !!!

there are a few minor flaws with every sim, but hey, nothings perfict right?

Or more simply, add a function to directly "go to" any place on the map by ctrl-clicking, if you are not driving a train.

Pretty good idea there I think I'll do that tomorrow during theory lesson at school.
