Hello all

Unread postby K5LLA » Tue Jan 31, 2012 5:37 am

First post since my registration. Spending one week reading this International forum, i discovered folks from North, South America and Europe as well !*brav*!
I'm a Musician, an US Railfan and i have built, but not totally finished, a big H0 layout, modern era, BNSF & UP uniquely, from the switcher 1500 to the SDmac70ACE, the only exception is the Amtrak, P42 and Superliners.
I discovered the RW2012 Sim 3 weeks ago, decided to give it a try and i have to say that i'm not disappointed at all !!*ok*!!
My first try was a turorial scenario, then quickly switched to a Dash9 or an ES44AC, i was !*roll-laugh*! , pushing the horn and bell, switching views, wahooo, what a fun. From this day, i'm running the Sim as soon as i get some free time.
For now, still learning and reading, trying to find how to improve the default scenarios, routes or rolling stock etc...hope discovering a bunch of quality addons, payware or freeware, for my BNSF & UP story without forgotten the Amtrak, in some ways, simulating my H0 layout. Any ideas, suggestions and advices are welcomed.
Best whishes to all for 2012.
!*cheers*!

The first address for additional downloads is of course the RailworksAmerica File Library. It has a lot of good freeware stuff.
Then there is Steam with all the official railsimulator.com dlc: http://store.steampowered.com/publisher/RailSimulator.com?snr=1_7_suggest__13 This includes locos like the SW1500, SD70ACE and P42.
Some third-party payware producers also offer addons. Just look into the "Payware Gazebo" of the forum or click "Payware Advertisements" at the top of the site.

Have fun. :D

If you've enjoyed it so far, wait till you find out that there's a freeware TGV-Est; and a BB4700; G40 ferry van; BB66000; and several superb French routes, all for this sim. You're very welcome here, happy simming!

Welcome! You have chosen a good place for friendly discussion and advice. Also there's a lot of DLC available here and elsewhere.

Bienvenue.

Hi K5,

Welcome from the UK via the USA *!lol!*

What a great sim this is, i had been a HO modeller for over 50 yrs until a move to a smaller home a few years ago unfortunatley meant that the layout had to go, i did enjoy Microsoft Train Sim for 10 years on the PC and i use RW3 more as a HO layout rather than wanting to be a train driver!,

I do miss the building of a layout but as i am learning how to use the Editor in RW3 the more i do the more i am enjoying the sim be it frustating at times!

I am retired now so time is something i have plenty of and i do enjoy the Forum and and talking like you to people from around the world,

Check out Trainsim.com and of course on here , you may find some great addons and re-paints,

Cheers,

Roger.

I got my TS2012 just before the Great Christmas Sale of 2011, so I then went a bit hog-wild on the official DLC, racking up all the US content at a nice price. I've been having a grand time Free Roaming and seeing the sights as well as working through various scenarios. I've even done some career scenarios and had a blast. On top of that I've now been turned on to some of the Brit routes and I'm slowly stocking up on that DLC now....

My N scale model RR languishes, but TS2012 is what I really wanted--to operate trains!

Put on some great music in the iPod and start a run--THAT'S entertainment!! !*YAAA*!
