Default track makeover kit?

Does anybody know if this freeware asset is needed now we have RW3? And will it overwrite existing default assets (as its name suggests)?

Afaik it adds something, extra track rules? so yes it is necessary for some routes. Scenery assets haven't changed since RS and won't, iirc.

OK - I see it has a backup and recovery option. So I can re-load the oruginals if I need to :)
