Comming back to RW

Unread postby LionelDave » Wed Dec 28, 2011 2:46 pm

A little over 3 years ago I tried to get into RW but just could never drive the trians right and gave up and went back to Trainz.

But the lure of horseshoe curve brought me back christmas day. I had gotten a new computer since then and never load RW on to it.

So after 3 years I'm starting over again.

Too say I was suprised at how well RW workd now after 3 years is putting it mildly. Before I could NOT even get through the tutorials without trouble but with the new HUD, I'm doing a lot better.

In fact I'm doing so good that I went and addded Horseshoe curve and donner pass and got through the tutorial for Horseshoe curve last night and it felt wonderful and can't wait to do a switching scenario.

However I do have a couple of questions. I see that the scenarios now have a couple of catagories. And need to know what a "career"?? scenario is or does and is it a separate scenario with the same name as the regular scenario.

The second question is that I seem to remember being able to switch out cars and engines in a scenario. How was that done? (I think I need the tool program to do it. (was it RStools?)

That's all the questions I have for now

Thanks for any help you can give me.
Dave

PS: What is TSX I see people are talking about it in this forum?

the career scenarios are copys of some of the regular scenarios, but RW will grade you on your preformance and rank you up against anybody else in the world who has also played that career scenario.

yes the tool that you are thinking of was RSTools, now it is RWTools and has some new features but can do all the same things you want it to do. also in a freeroam scenario you can just go into the scenario editor mode and do it there since there are no instructions for locomotives and you woulden't halfto deal with all the other stuff.

ah TSX, it is the new HighPreformance game engine that RW3 uses (high preformance and very high demanding on some pc's). better than me explaning it, just try it out. when the launcher pops up go to the tab on the top for settings, then you will see a check box near the top for TSX, click it on, and you will see the red X on the bottom left of the launcher turn to a green Check mark. then go have fun with some awsome new effects including rain on windows, working headlights, realistic shadows, and much more!
