GE C40-8

Unread postby eyein12 » Fri Nov 18, 2011 1:55 pm

hey

does anyone have pics on this particular unit(GE C40-8) non widecab version. I dont care about paint schemes right now. But im working on making a C40-8 model series, for UP, CSX, NS and CR operations. This is a project ive been eyeing up for a long time and plan on working on this concurrently with my route. Ive pretty much hit my stide modellign and ready to take on the big bears! I have it started but any dimensions would be helpful and pics of the front and back and top would be really helpful. I have basic dimensions down from drawings showing the sides in great detail. I see others working on similar stuff but the liklihood of them every making it to the game is very low, so I thought id do one that Ive wanted to see in RW since 2007.

Thanks for the help guys!
Ian

I'll do you one better. If you are using 3DCanvas, I can send you the C30_7 trucks (the first ones used trade-in trucks) frame, and template that I made for this locomotive a couple of years back. They are nowhere near perfect but im sure you could figure them out and get them up to snuff. I also got pics. I will dig them out later tonight.

I wish I had a video of you doing that step-by-step. My big thing is that I am doing all the my models in SU, and bringing them over to 3DC. I would rather do them in 3DC but the user interface still has me baffled.

Thanks jerry will be popping those up now! thanks for the trucks I may use the wheel base. I have some blueprints of the side from trainiax just like you had. so im working off that. If they had a front back blueprint that would help tremendously.

Why not spend a few $$ and get a back issue with top ends and sides ? Using trainiax side elevations for anything is like **!!bang!!** **!!bang!!**

**!!2cents!!**
