Erratic throttle

Unread postby ChuckF » Tue Nov 15, 2011 12:46 pm

Hi! I've been experiencing a lot of erratic Throttle/Dynamic Brake control recently. The control jumps around on its own, using different engines and on different routes. I tried to control a heavy train down Cajon Pass, which was almost impossible because the throttle would not stay in its selected position. I've checked my settings, and have not noticed anything that could be causing the problem. Is this a known glitch and has it been reported to railsim.com? Cheers; Chuck F.

Are you using the keyboard to control the throttle, or something analogue like RailDriver?

Two things that could affect throttle and brake key input...

- Low frame rates causing the graphics handling to hog CPU time and miss or queue up (and delay) keyboard input.
- The F4 HUD can also affect keyboard input as I found out on the UK loco with the "tap" throttle.

You could try lowering your graphics settings and turn off the F4 HUD to see if that helps.

Not had any problems here using the keyboard controls or in cab controls (where they actually work) I don't use the F4 HUD, tho. Ran a Cajon scenario by Foote Forward the other day and it was fine.

Hi! the problem I have is both with F4 and F3 Hud, when using either the mouse or key board. Did not know low frame rates could be a possible problem. I'll lower settings and see what happens. Thanks and Cheers; Chuck F;
