Stupid Question Department

Please don't be too hard on a newby.

I see lots of routes written for RW2, but none so far, for RW3.

Will a route written for RW2 install, load and work correctly with RW3?

I won't attempt to answer your question, but I will say that the only stupid question is a question not asked. !*salute*!

We only got RW3 10 days ago. Cant build much of a route in 10 days. I have a year and a half in mine, thats 1400 + hours so far, and it does work just fine in Railworks 3.

The offical answer is yes.

The short answer is that there may be a few minor glitches (mostly rendering issues) but the route should play fine.

The long answer ... well, the long answer would be long and probably boring. !**duh*!!

Well, it really depends on individual experience. The route i'm working has had some users report no problems. A few users reported a few minor problems. A few reported a couple of major problems. And one said the #@%*! route wouldn't load at all after the update. Personally, i'm dissatisfied enough with it's performance and issues that i've pulled it from circulation until fixes and "upgrades" can be made.

Many thanks to all who replied. The answers were about what I expected.

Thanks again.

My approach to the my route has been:
1) Hang on to your RW2
2) I'm making no changes until the dust settles

Hawk, I hate to burst your bubble, there are stupid questions. While this one is not, they are out there. As Site Safety (also known as Adult Daycare Coordinator) I have had my share. I had one worker ask me if he had to wear a hard hat and another ask if he had to wear safety glasses - at the time BOTH were standing next to the sign that said "HARD HATS, SAFETY GLASSES, and SAFETY TOED BOOTS ARE REQUIRED."

I have almost if not every American route that has been made and have run at least one scenario in each. Everything worked fine in all.

A long time ago, (not in a galaxy far, far away...a close one)...I worked for a large department store in the Computer/Stereo section. A lady came in with her family, one boy about 17 or so, and a very young boy around 5 or 6. The little guy was all excited. I commented to the Mom that he seemed to be having way too much fun. She smiled, so I asked the little guy, "How come you're so happy?"....(honest to God)...he said "Mom says that if I'm good we can go to 'Chunky Jesus' for dinner.....

I had to leave for a few minutes..... !*roll-laugh*! !*brav*! !*salute*! *!greengrin!*
