I thought I would try some NEC scenarios with TS2012, and I am running into some odd things.
I can start out in the Keystone scenario - leaving from NYP. The consist begins with 1 engine and 6 cars. Initially pick up passengers - all goes well. I set the cruise control for 15mph, and ease the throttle up. It starts going through some of the initial switches, and then out of the blue some number of the cars drop off the back end of the train as if the coupler fails or some such. One time I found myself going through the tunnel without any cars - one other time I had 2 cars instead of 6. Very strange. I could back up and re-couple, and continue on, but it again dropped some cars in the Hudson tunnel.
And another observation - when I am in the Hudson tunnel with the cruise control set to 60, the train accelerates in a very jerky manner. There is a burst of speed that accelerates maybe 1-2mph, and then it eases off for a second. Then another burst of speed, and then it eases off again. From what I can recall, RW2 never did this. With the cabsway that we see when the train accelerates, the screen image rocks back and forth when the train accelerates, which is kind of a weird sensation.
