Road 2L Tar

Unread postby SMMDigital » Wed Sep 21, 2011 8:33 am

I've been using Scale Road on the AND route since shortly after starting it, and I plan to continue using it in areas where detail is important. However, for areas where roads are a "background" object, I want something simple with traffic that i don't have to go to the trouble of laying lofts on. Is the Road 2L Tar **** in RW by default, or is it part of something like The Port Road or Phorum Peninsula?

Confirmed. *!greengrin!*

I have a 100% default install of RW2 and those Tar road sections are there.

Excellent! Thanks for the quick responses!

I have so many add-ons that it's hard to tell what is default and what is not. I think i'm going to set up a "pure" RW install for testing purposes on my Vista Partition and remove whatever add-on packages after testing is over.

The Tar roads are UK roads I believe. If I remember they have a line of grass on each side of them too. They make good driveways.

They are good for background roads. They closely match the size of Scale Road. I'm not sure why the default RW roads are like 80 feet wide. I'm working on a reskin for the 2LTar to make them better match SR for where they meet in the game.

You can get rid of the grass by sinking the road into the ground just a hair or two. Which you probably already know. *!lol!*

Over the Shock/Awe/Chagrin of TS2012. Back to asset building.

A few lofted background objects to help speed along the route building process. Not a replacement for ScaleRoads, these are default British paved roads that have been texture modified, resized, and fitted with American traffic. Will be working on the four-lanes soon.
