The problem with bringing more traffic is that we would have to watch who shows up, so as not to "pollute" our community.

Not a problem at all. Are two completely different issues. And the polluters issue is very easy to handle.

Good example is the freeforms forum ( url higher up) is a secret place no one can see what is going on unless you subscribe. And probably not indexed by Bing or Google. In my opinion that is totally nuts and bad for the TS community. The various non sense discork channels are doing the same thing.

The one "higher up" is definitely not a secret place...particularly as I have mentioned it *!lol!* . Seriously, nothing secret, hidden or cultish about it - totally open to quality in every sense..come and join in - though it does tend to concentrate on the UK and a little bit of Europe.

Still very bad they put barriers up and that they do not want to share but in a small group that is a member. I am glad DTG and RWA are not doing that.
UPDATE - Just noticed that RWA is the same, no idea when that happened, forum is kept secret and for members only :-(

I can't say I have noticed a slowing down. There's been a few posts every day for the last 10 years or so. These are usually interesting posts.

I am confused...Are you talking about the URL I put on the second post? Could you say what barriers you have encountered?

People are going to do what people are going to do. You can’t change that. I had to step away for a couple years, but, I’ve come back and I’m rebuilding my install (lost the old hard drive) and I’ll move forward. Those of us who see this as a hobby will be here and participate as we always do. As I get older I’ve had to put away the “twich-kiddy” games and fall back on something I enjoy doing that’s a little slower paced.

Some people do just get burnt out after a while and have changes in life too. Like me for example, I have been absent for a number of years after the extremely disappointing release of TSW (in my opinion) and decided i needed a break from everything. Just recently i have reinstalled RW/TS and am trying to slowly get back into things. (also not easy since it will take a while to build back up my mod folder that used to be many many GB in size and some assets just aren't available anymore)

Welcome back and just remember almost everything is available from someone around here for your personal use even if it's no longer publicly available.
