How do you delete drivers for a "no driver" version of a locomotive?

My subject line says it all. I'm trying to make driver-less versions of some of my locos - the Dash9Pack01, for example - and as far as I can see from other locos that do have driver-less versions the driver info in the engine file looks the same!

Below is the driver lines from the ES44DC found in Montana Hi-Line:

<DriverPosition>
<cHcRMatrix4x4>
<Element>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="000000000000F03F" d:precision="string">1</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000000" d:precision="string">0</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000000" d:precision="string">0</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000000" d:precision="string">0</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000000" d:precision="string">0</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="000000000000F03F" d:precision="string">1</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000000" d:precision="string">0</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000000" d:precision="string">0</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000000" d:precision="string">0</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000000" d:precision="string">0</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="000000000000F03F" d:precision="string">1</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000000" d:precision="string">0</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000000" d:precision="string">0</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000000" d:precision="string">0</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000000" d:precision="string">0</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="000000000000F03F" d:precision="string">1</e>
</Element>
</cHcRMatrix4x4>
</DriverPosition>
<DriverPresent d:type="cDeltaString">eFalse</DriverPresent>

And here are the same lines from the driver-less version:

<DriverPosition>
<cHcRMatrix4x4>
<Element>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="000000000000F03F" d:precision="string">1</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000000" d:precision="string">0</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000000" d:precision="string">0</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000000" d:precision="string">0</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000000" d:precision="string">0</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="000000000000F03F" d:precision="string">1</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000000" d:precision="string">0</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000000" d:precision="string">0</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000000" d:precision="string">0</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000000" d:precision="string">0</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="000000000000F03F" d:precision="string">1</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000000" d:precision="string">0</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000000" d:precision="string">0</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000000" d:precision="string">0</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000000" d:precision="string">0</e>
<e d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="000000000000F03F" d:precision="string">1</e>
</Element>
</cHcRMatrix4x4>
</DriverPosition>
<DriverPresent d:type="cDeltaString">eFalse</DriverPresent>

These both look the same to me! And shouldn't the first example above, which supposedly *has* a driver, indicate in the DriverPresent line that it should be "eTrue"??

That is confusing like a lot of things in Railworks but what you need to look at is in the one with the driver down in the 'Children' section it will show a driver 1 and usually driver 2 if there is a brakeman or fireman also in the crew. Just delete those entries and your crew will be gone.

Wow ... such a simple fix!

It took me years - I began in 2008 - to really understand all the files, their structures and relationships in MSTS and, latterly, ORTS. Now I can fix almost any problem and know exactly where the problem lies.

But with RW I'm back at the bottom of the learning curve, so every tidbit of info like this is hugely valuable.

So *!!thnx!!* sir!
