Missing Quickdrive Routes

Unread postby munkelwitz » Tue Jul 25, 2017 7:51 pm

Most of my Quickdrive Routes have disappeared from the menu. I've cleared cache and verified file integrity. In the past deleting the SDBCCache files and having them restored automatically has done the trick. This time, no luck. Has anyone had this problem and can they suggest a solution? Thanks.

Be sure you have selected a diesel or steam loco. If you have an electric loco selected, only electrified routes will show up.

Here's an update on the situation (and yes, this can happen to you): according to DTG and a user on Railsim.de (German) the number of content files can overwhelm the game and cause a failure to load QD icons on the menu. At one time you could rebuild sdbccache, but that doesn't work anymore. What has been suggested is creating route subfolders like UK Routes, US Routes, etc. and then renaming the sub folder "routes" when you want to run a specific route. Cumbersome for sure, but worth a try. I have about 800,000 third party (mostly German) content files. I'll let you know if this works. Otherwise, the game runs fine.

This is good to know. Thanks for updating with the root of the problem.

Sorry to hear deleting the SDBcache files didn't work for you. I had this problem for the first time myself and thankfully deleting them and letting steam re-add them worked for me.

Mike, the creator of RW Tools, has a program called "StoreThem" that does exactly what you want.

Thanks for mentioning Mike Simpson. I've kept him in the loop and I'm looking at his storage program. TS2017 Workshop scenarios download at their pleasure it seems, so I'm concerned a new scenario might not be able to download "whenever". Railsim.de scenarios download and install on command.
