so what do we know....it is not canadian, not on the east coast, not UP, it's not modern although it is still used, it has 2 class 1 railroads, both passanger and freight, 3 fair sized yards with crew change points, most trains require helpers, has 4 branchlines, and the Calafornia Zephyr had traveled over the route once during the 1950s, has been a MAJOR corridor for over 100 years. so thinking that it is not a modern style route (it is still used but the modeling takes place in the past) it could be any of these railroads: Santa Fe, Burlington Northern, Southern Pacific, Northern Pacific, Great Northern, D&RGW, and Western Pacific. so it is 2 of those railroads......but which ones? once we find which railroads they are it should narrow down which route it could be!

Are we sure WP is ruled out? Could it be that the CZ was re-route through one of its own freight corridors which it shared with another Class 1, just one time?

I wonder what it could be...

I may announce the route shortly...

...or just leave you all hanging. :D

Seriously, I'll announce the route in a short while. In the meantime, I've been busy checking my profiles for line accuracy for the date modeled (1964), and to do something different, I have decided to provide an update copy/patch for a modern version (because I believe both are interesting in their own right). No modern equipment will be provided (other than what you might already have for RW ), but I'll likely include a few modern activities with the update.
Cheers!

Shortly? So in 3 months. *!greengrin!*
A 60s setting? Sounds interesting, although I don't have much knowledge about this timeperiod.
Unfortunately this was an era of decline in railroading. *!sad!*

Wow, the idea to also do a modern version is great.
I can't await what it really is.
