Ouch... I'm in that half, and here I thought I had another year left on my current rig.

Yea, my rig only has two core. Hey, it lasted me for 5 years, so that's a good run for dual core. :)

Any recommendation on a good Motherboard/CPU combo?

I would wait till you absolutely need to upgrade, and then take the jump.

Aside from that, are you interested in building you own rig, or buying something out of the box?

Depends on your preferences, you want an Intel CPU or an AMD? I'm an AMD CPU guy, so really can't comment on an Intel CPU. My newest CPU/ motherboard/ RAM combo, from New Egg, cost me about $500. CPU was most expensive. It's a Phenom II 940 Black Edition quad. Board is a Biostar, was open box deal, only $56 USD. RAM is G Skill 1066, 4Gb. Solid, stable PC. I don't overclock, but, I still have plenty of cooling fans. I don't want anything getting hot, especially me. And Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit, it's a must. Even if you can't get Ultimate, get 64 bit. OEM disks here in the US/ Canada are under $90 from New Egg. !!*ok*!!

I always build my own rigs, to me it's the fun of putting it all together. Nice, shiny new case, run the wires just right, I spend an entire day. I don't scrimp on parts, but then again, I'm not Donald Trump, so I can't afford the high dollar stuff, either. Read reviews on whatever store you want to buy from, or a quick Google on the parts you are looking at.

So I have some questions on the new update.

1. Let's say you have multiple locomotive units in a train, after the update, will the engineer/driver be able to control all the locomotive with the throttle? Like if I put in notch 1, will all the locomotive in the consist power up to notch 1?

2. While AI trains can drop off cars, it can't really couple up to cars. Will this be fixed in the update?

3. Will it be possible to uncouple a helper locomotive (on the fly) and have AI take over the helper locomotive to drive it back to where it started?
