I uninstalled GeForce experience and the NVidia hdmi stuff. Have not tried anything yet. Been porting my email over.

If I am not using the HDMI sound why have all that running and taking up processor and memory? Makes no sense.

That's strange Bob. I have my HP Envy-Beats Audio edition laptop connected to my Sansung 4K UHD TV via HDMI and it shows up as "Samsung (Intel(R) Display Audio)". Runs fine.

I don't use my Realtek drivers (they are used to drive my laptop speakers and headphone Jack) and the Beats Audio it's joined at the hip with. I rolled back the driver to the stock Windows "High Definition Audio Device" (thus getting rid of both the Realtek and Beats Audio). I did that cuz I prefer the stock HD Audio's flat EQed sound better and for some reason it outputs audio from the headphone jack twice as loud than the Realtek driver did. That is especially helpful for driving the higher impedance of my Sennheiser headphones.

I have "NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device (Wave Extensible) (WDM)" listed as one of my drivers, but I have no idea when and if it's ever used. It certainly doesn't show up as a playback device. !*don-know!*

Well the only way I get sound is through the front jack. The one of the rear is not working. Will be talking to tech support this week sometime, afterI fill out the registration form.

Nvidia is real bad about installing multiple audio drivers even when a device does call them to be installed.
When in doubt I disable audio drivers. The device that actually needs them usually will reinstall it if it needs them.

I had to disable my front audio jack to enable the rear speaker jack to work. Not the way it was supposed to work but it works. Good luck with technical support, I hope they fix you up right!
