Any freeware desert routes out there?

Unread postby SAR704 » Sun Aug 23, 2015 7:30 am

Just wondering, are there any arid desert routes out there for this game? I'd prefer one set in an era around the 1980s or earlier that's not mountainous, but nonetheless, I thought I'd ask.

There's an old MSTS desert route I remember using probably over a decade ago, and it represented the arid landscape quite well.

However, I'm curious as to whether there are any for TS2015?

Over at Railsim.com, Otto still hosts an extended RW2 BNSF Cajon sub, that has lots of additional Mojave desert. It includes Barstow - Mojave, and Mojave - West Colton by means of the Palmdale Cutoff (formerly SP, now UP). It also has UP's Yermo yard and the UP Lone Pine branch and Trona RR phosphate branch out of Mojave. You cannot get more 'deserted' until UP's Yuma Sub will be modeled that includes Death Valley.

Panamint Crossing might interest you. At http://panamintcrossing.blogspot.co.uk/.

It's not totally free - but you'll get excellent value for 12 dollars...

Totally free - try Njandoul-Linguere, set in Senegal - to be found at http://uktrainsim.com/filelib-info.php? ... leid=34678.

Also free - at http://www.railsim-fr.com/forum/index.p ... owfile=755, is 'Africa', a fictitious evocation of Mauretania.

Kind regards,
