TS Festival Week 2: Donner Pass

This is a great opportunity to buy some Donner Pass locos. I bought the DTM SD45 during the Winter Sale. I am considering the GP20 since it's one of the best locos, developed by Reppo. I wouldn't mind if someone gifts it to me.

Any thoughts on this??

Just curious but isn't Donner Pass one of those that's still supposedly being patched? I recall seeing one of those "tell us what you think about this" on the steam forum since the last overhaul of the route. That and I'm sure I already own everything that will go on sale this week. *!greengrin!*

A number of the career scenarios/achievements are broken, but the route itself has mostly been patched into playable shape.

Loco-wise, perhaps somewhat surprising as I'm an east coast guy, I'm actually a fan of a lot of the SP stuff that's been released (probably because DTM does solid work, and they're responsible for a lot of what's here). The GP20's (Repp) are nice (though I don't play with them much), I'm a sucker for the GE44's, I'm not sure I've ever driven the SD70, but the SD45 is fine for what it is. I'm not a particularly big fan of the F40PH, but in part, that's because if it doesn't look like a toaster, I have trouble recognizing it as Amtrak.

There's also a fantastic RS-11 SP re-paint available here at RWA.

Maybe it's that the GP20's are kinda hard to drive. Definitely will get it in the future. I have the FEF-3 but don't have the time to learn to drive it. Even the HUD model is tough to learn lol. SD45 is really good but some problems (Got it for $3). SD70M, never will bother driving it. I have the F40PH but rarely use it. I can still identify it as Amtrak. The GE44, looks like I might get it in the future.

Don't know of any recent patched other than the overhaul in December 2012.

None from DTG that is... *!greengrin!*
I've also patched the entire Donner Pass rolling stock set and the DTM S.P. SD45-2.
I haven't posted it yet but I fixed the touchy brakes on the DDA40X too. It's so sweet to drive.
It suddenly dawned on me this weekend, that I have over 300 man hours into fixing up Donner... *!embar*!

Just to make myself clear. A patch infers fixing something that was wrong. That is what RSC did when they repaired Donner. What Eric has done is a upgrade and looks to be a lovely one at that.

They are certainly not hard to drive.
Even the startup sequence is quite easy.
That DLC is one of the best things in TS.

I followed the link to the Southern Pacific SD70M Loco Add-On, and on this page there is another link:
Packages that include this game
Buy Sheerness Branch and SP SD70M Twin Pack
Includes 2 items: Sheerness Branch Extension Route Add-On, Southern Pacific SD70M Loco Add-On

Having never heard of a Sheerness Branch, I follow the links to this:
Sheerness Branch Extension Route Add-On
The seven mile Sheerness Branch line from Sittingbourne to Sheerness carries daily commuters from the mainland of Kent to the county’s only island, the Isle of Sheppey.

W.T.F?
This package seems to have been designed by a committee. It has the strangest mix of content I've ever seen.
From my experience of the UK, the SD70 is probably larger than the Isle of Sheppey, wherever that is.

I just don't know the keyboard shortcuts. Also just edit the double post you made. SD70 makes no sense if it is longer then Sheerness.

I'm not quite sure why that bundle still exists, but it is in part due to the upgraded Steam Edition of the TS2014 release.

I emailed DTG support about this asking if this correct and the reply was "Yes, this is correct. It is an upgrade pack for those who had the Standard edition of Train Simulator 2014, to upgrade to the Steam Edition."
