Ok, it sounds like I'm on the right track (no pun intended). *!greengrin!*
I had added the driver icon, but I think I chose the wrong scenario when I loaded it up to try. What I got was the default first Testtrak scenario.
Is there an easy way to swap my new RS3 into a stock Railworks route/scenario? There is a scenario I like that has an sd40-2 doing a bunch of switching. First some double-stacks then grain cars - I dont recall th name offhand, I'll check after work today.
What I would like to do is replace the SD with my RS3 so I can try that. Is that possible?

Yes it is possible, but you'll need the donationware RWTools from Mike Simpson.

It's a great and useful programme and every Railworker should have it. It has the option to swap locos and cars in scenarios.
You can also set up a route with it or modify Railworks files.

Allright, I'm up to my elbows in RW Tools. I'm attempting to replace the SD40-2 in "Classification at Monument Yard" with an RS-3.
I'll let you know in the morning if I managed it.

[edit] I got it to work. I was shunting cars around with a wheezy, old Alco. It was everything I hoped it would be. *!greengrin!*
