New P42 vs. original P42

I tried keeping up on all the threads when the new P42DC Empire Builder set was released to see if this question would be answered, but missed it if it was. I just bought this set last night and didn't have the original pack. Are the same units included in the new set that were in the original? I know the new one is installed to a different folder as an .ap file, but if I extract the .ap file and paste that folder in the original's Asset folder location would that enable scenarios that use the original set to work with the new one?

Yes IF the whole folder structre is the same AND the engine blueprints have the same file name.

Honestly it would be so much easier to just swap them out with RW-Tools.

Thanks for the reply. I have RW Tools but haven't done much with it yet. Been too busy playing existing scenarios for the moment.
