New to RWA, and game...saying hello everybody

Unread postby jack72 » Mon Nov 25, 2013 1:33 pm

New to Railworks (TS 2014) and this site. Although I don't have the game yet, I plan to get it over the Thanksgiving holiday as I hope there will be many discounts.

Mostly interested in modern and steam engines. Is there any scenarios that are in the Ontario/Quebec corridor? I have noticed there was one for MSTS that was the Go line in Toronto.

Anyway, looking forward to getting into this experience.

I heard that there were hard copies to be bought for around $20 in some stores. That's a really inexpensive way to get the game and then you can connect to steam and it will update you to the latest version.

No routes like that here yet, however if you poke around on the routes section of the File Library you will see a lot of free stuff that's available.

In any event welcome.

Hello, and welcome to Railworks Train Simulator! In terms of Canadian add-ons, I know of several Canadian National diesels available (Dash 9, SD70 Vol.2, CN SD40-2W packs). RSC hasn't made any Canadian routes, but there are a few in the file library here at RWA. *&!welcome!&*

RSC usually has a big sale around Thanksgiving and Christmas, so you should be able to get the game and some expansion packs for it for not too much cash, (well, compared to what the actual prices are). I recommend buying the Amtrak F40PH or the Southern Pacific SD45 as a start...

Happy Train-simming! !!*ok*!!

Hi everyone....

I will try and look for TS2014 in Walmart and best buy,,,but for some reason, in Canada (Toronto - home of Mr. R Ford), never has the same titles that are available in the U.S.

Will keep looking.

But if you can wait, chances are it will be cheaper at some stage over Thanksgiving in the Steam sale

Warning: it's addictive . . . buying the main program is just the tip of the iceberg :)

Addictive..... !*brav*! !*YAAA*! !*hp*!

Just one quick question,,,,(yeah right)
I noticed on this site and many others that there are a number of scenario, routes, engines, railcars, and scenary downloads that was for 2012 or 2013. Will they work for 2014 version as well.

Yes they will. Some of the repaints from back in RW2 time will not show up properly. They will have a sort of bleached out look to them but most everything else works.
