Comdlg32.ocx problem

Unread postby thecanadianrail » Tue Dec 28, 2010 1:57 pm

my computer never came with Comdlg32.ocx and i need it to use any of the f7 repaints that were from railsimulator such as the NP or GN repaints. i tryed to download it and following the instructions given to me from the windows website i tryed to install it. the computer would let me put it into the correct place but when i tryed to install the repaints i kept getting the error that the file Comdlg32.ocx is missing. i am running on windows 7. any help out there?

Surprised it's not on your system. This is what generates the usual Open, Save and other, well, common dialogs used in Windows applications. On my system, which is also Windows 7, it's in the folder SysWOW64.

It's necessary to tell the system registry that an OCX control exists. Here's one description of the procedure.

If you download the full version of RW_Tools from my web site at http://www.rstools.info/rw_tools.html#RWTv2 it will install all the VB .ocx files for you and register them automatically.
