CMP coupler fix install questions

Unread postby SlackAction » Sat Jan 03, 2015 1:19 am

Hello,

I've just downloaded the coupler fix for the CMP ES44 and accompanying rolling stock. While the readme instructions are quite straightforward, I'm a bit confused as to if files should be overwritten or not. My understanding was that the download contained updated files which would replace existing files in the CMP route folder.

The readme calls for a set of folders to be placed into the 'assets/JL/CP' directory and to overwrite any files as necessary. However, the aforementioned directory does not contain any files of which to be overwritten, and I'm essentially just dropping in what was downloaded. Only two files were present in the 'CP' folder before I attempted to install the fix, 'Blueprints.pak' and 'CanadianPacificAssets.ap'.

Anyways, I'm not sure if what I'm experiencing is normal or not. Being relatively new to RW/TS, I'm not overly familiar with the program's file structuring.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Just drag the "Assets" folder from the zip file to your Railworks folder. Accept all prompts to merge or overwrite.
What you see is normal.
The missing files are compressed into 'CanadianPacificAssets.ap', which is actually just a zip file.
The game will use the files from the fix instead of those from the .ap archive.
