3D weather doesn't seem to have much of an effect, but the dynamic lighting cuts my framerate about in half...Without dynamic lighting I get about 30FPS average, with dynamic lighting on, even when I turn antialiasing and texture filtering to the lowest settings I still struggle to break 15FPS. Anybody else have this happen?

I would just turn dynamic lighting off but then lights don't project (both headlights and stuff like streetlights and houses), which makes running at night look quite bizarre and not terribly pleasant.

Dual core ivybridge Intel i5 at 2.7GHz, 8GB RAM, Nvidia GT840m. Not super high end I know but as far as notebooks go it's pretty good, in 2014 I played with almost everything but antialiasing maxed and got a consistent 30-35FPS.

We keep pointing out that this game is really not meant to be played on a laptop. From my own experience on my desktop it doesn't seem to be any more demanding than 2014 was. Actually maybe less.

Meant to be played on a laptop? Perhaps not. But will it work just fine? Absolutely it will. I've been running the game on laptops since RW3 days and while performance hasn't been off the charts (my old laptop had just an Intel integrated GPU and it still did alright), I get respectable numbers with the card in my new laptop. I do have a 4GB GTX770 sitting around that I bought on sale but for the moment a desktop just isn't practical for me.

Update- I downloaded Razer Gamebooster to see if that would help at all. Returned all settings to what I used in 2014 and not only returned to the same framerate I ran in 2014 with dynamic lighting and clouds on, but even gained about 10% on top of that. Interesting. I suppose it doesn't help that I typically don't shut my computer all the way off for sometimes 2 or 3 weeks on end.

That being said I'm now satisfied, plus dynamic lighting is pretty sweet.

That's good to hear because I know many for different reasons are committed to a laptop.

There is something wrong with environmental light with this 3D weather in 2015

I chose 3D weather option for scenario, and I don't see the difference in env. light on 9.40 PM and 11.30 PM
It should be substantially darker but sky is still light-grey, and even some trees cast shadows.

I don't understand why non-3D weather can't be used in quickdrive.
