There is a very useful post on the weather systems in TS2015 on UKTrainsim http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 1&t=139225 .

Go to world editor then scenario editor. Lower right flyout will give you weather choices. If you don't like whatever you can always go back using the same moves.

Are you aware that you can open the scenario editor without going through the world editor? If all you want to do is change a scenario's weather, I don't understand taking two steps when one will do.

I'm getting a little confused on how one goes about changing the weather in a given scenario. The only two ways I've used is either (1) going into Build, then the Route, then pick the scenario you want to change the weather in and click on Edit, then change the weather in the right hand fly out, save and run the scenario. Or (2) within the scenario that you want to change the weather you press Ctrl+E, then in the top left fly out you click the scenario editor icon (the loco) and that puts you in the scenario editor where you can change the weather, then save and run your scenario. Both methods as I'm sure everyone knows puts you back at the starting point in the scenario which I find very frustrating.

Tom, if there's a faster and better way to do this that would save me these extra steps I would very much appreciate it if you'd share this info.

Regards,
Doug

How about going to Build, then Scenario instead of Route and choose a scenario then Edit?

With the TS 2015 menus that are so hard to read, I find it easier now to use the second method outlined above by DapperDan. Until I roll back to the 2014 menus.

Honestly, while all the methods outlined here work very well, probably the easiest/fastest method is to simply use rw_tools.

You took the words right out of my keyboard! I've never understood how folks got the idea that the only way to enter the scenario editor is through the route editor, which resembles going from Tennessee to Ohio to get to Georgia. I agree that the 2015 menu system is confusing to us older hands (and heads), but we've been here before and figured things out, so we'll certainly do so again.

1 - because it's easier and quicker: from the game, click on "world editor" (this loads quickly because the route is already loaded), then click on the scenario editor icon and there you are.
2 - my problem with the 2015 menus is not one of confusion, but because it is so unreadable I leave nose prints on my monitor.

Editting a scenario from the game like that produces errors at times when saving. Mostly if you edit the same scenario more than once.

When I am editting a route, I make freeroams in different places with no engines and run those and hit control e to get in the world editor. I use the world editor from in game but not the scenario editor.

Is it just me or does the environmental menu fly-out sometimes not fly-out anymore? I've had to re-launch the scenario editor when it does that to get it back to being accessible again. Is this a known bug? Pinning it makes sure it can't disappear for good, but I shouldn't have to. It wasn't until the new 3D weather that I even messed with scenario editor. So I haven't had a history with it to know it was an already known issue.
