In a word - no :D In line with past upgrades, existing users will get the base upgrade to the core program, which will include the new skies and upgrades to the route building tools. (plus anything else core related they havent revealed as yet) You will not get the new routes, however, I believe I did read that if you own any of the existing routes that are being upgraded by DTG to the new 2015 standard, yours will also be upgraded ie, if you already own NY - NH but not the German route etc, then your NY-NH will be upgraded, but you wont receive the others.

Only 6 weeks to wait...

Here's the answer → http://www.engine-driver.com/article/sh ... on-and-faq

This link already stated in this post, so you should pay more attention when reading the threads and posts before asking questions whose answer is easy to find.

PS: Additionally, I would comment a new feature mentioned in the Steam forums, specifically here:
DTG_Admin wrote:The updated system works differently to the current TS2014 one however. As it stands in TS2014 when you pick a weather setting it is applied to the whole of the route. With the new system we can have localised weather effects meaning one section of the track can be raining while another area will be dry.

PS 2: As much as some reluctant users say, I think the new skies and new weather add more realism to the simulator. !!*ok*!!

Very well said, Bermúdez. This new features certainly promises an advancement to the visual realism of routes and scenario (comments by the "cup is always half empty" crowd notwithstanding).

^^ That said, I wonder how you can pick weather for Quick Drive.

Realism, or at least suspension of disbelief, comes from a combination of factors.
Models, physics, weather, lighting, sounds, etc.
If you improve enough of these factors, at some point you'll make the player cross the line where he becomes immersed in the game.
This new cloud system is one more factor.

On a related but unrelated post, can any of the route builders / modders advise on what is required to add / change a weather set on an existing route? I know this is putting the horse in front of the cart without actually knowing what is involved in this new weather system, but probably by next year, TS as we know it will cease to be, with DTG migrating to the new Unreal graphics engine and it would be disappointing if this new feature, while not high on my personal things about TS that needed attention, couldn't be added to legacy routes. (the new RWA cloned "Tri-Coal" route for example). It seems a waste if it will only work on the "new" 2015+ routes...

I think there will be some way for the new system of skies, clouds and weather can be incorporated into the routes we desire.
Today it is impossible to know how, so all in due time.

Those new features look great. I'm hoping we'll also see an update on route building documentation. !!*ok*!!

Double down ditto for scenario editing documentation: the "RW Timetable View Manual" hasn't been updated since 2010 and even the old (antique, rather) version did not cover all of the available features.
