Saving RWA Mod Files

Unread postby CSX2057 » Sun Dec 21, 2014 2:16 am

Is it possible that I can copy and paste all the mods from RWA in the steam files? Instead of redownloading again and again? I have 2 hard drives now and I'm using one for back up. I don't want to go all that process. Greatly appreciated.

I'm not following you here.
Why would you download again files that you already have?
Tell us what you do now and what the problem is.

Ok I'll try to explain as I can.

Normally I would reinstall my pc every 6 months to a year. The problem is I have to redownload the RWA files and add them in the TS2015 all over again. If you get my drift. Is it somehow i'm able to copy all the files from like sounds, repaints, and routes to a Backup Hard Drive then after I redownload from steam and put them directly into TS2015 files? Without reinstalling? Or redownloading?

You can copy your asset/content folders to an external source and simply re-copy them onto the new machine. You will lose the ability to use the package manager doing so.

Or, you can also just save all of the original downloads and just re-install if you really want to go that route.

What you need is the two-click method.
So named from this post by Machinist.

Basically, you need a separate folder structure for your add-ons (such as RW&A).
Put it on an external disk because you reinstall Windows often.
Then when you reinstall TS2015, or when you "Verify local files", or as often as you like, you run a script which will reinstall all your add-ons in a few minutes. Machinist provides such a script in his post.
