Hard to say, but it sounds like your GenField, Fuel Pump, or Engine Run switches on the control stand are off. If I haven't played in a while I just flip every switch I can find to "on" and let the engine sort it out.

still having problems, I did have all three turned on and fallowed the startup to the letter..... but the darn thing dies before the rpm's kick in.

here are the steps im taking

1: turn on battery disconnect
knife switch
2:turn on breaker switches
3: turn on genfield, fuel pump and engine run
4: prime for no more then 20sec
5: start engine <---- on this one do I just leave it on engine start or put it back to center once it starts up?
never get passed this part as the engine dies out before it starts getting rpm's..

did I miss anything?

I would not hold in prime any longer than 12 or so seconds. Once you switch over to "Start" leave it there.

yup I'm doing all that and it still dies out. out of just randomness when you first start the scenario does your gp40 act like it was on but they turned off?

I ask as maybe thats the problem im having. When I start a scenario the gp40 is running then quickly turns itself off.

ok i got it working, seems I wasn't letting the loco sit for 2mins before starting it up again.

It took me several tries to do that video. I think I was timing it around 15 seconds of priming. Then waiting for it to fully spool up and turn the switch to run.

Yup. That is a real life penalty I added into the script. :D
