VRC U30C Questions

Unread postby FHRob » Thu Dec 10, 2015 7:47 pm

1. In the instructions for starting the engine, it says to open the engine compartment doors, and locate the "Prime/Start" box. If somebody can post a screen shot of where the box is located, would be appreciated.

2. Attached is a screen shot from the first scenario included with the engine, showing the gauges.

The instructions list, left to right: Ammeter, Main/EQ Reservoir Gauge, AFM Gauge, Reserve Air Gauge. Are the instructions correct here?

3. I presume the HUD has to be open to ascertain the engine is at 450 rpm?

Thanks,

Rob :D

You can also tell the RPM, without the HUD, by hitting the F5 key twice. That gives a nice little unobtrusive display in the top left corner of the screen. It gives you all sorts of neat loco stats.

If the old KC99 controller has you a bit disconcerted, hold on, the AAR is coming with the Phase 2's.

Thanks much, the manual doesn't mention using the right arrow key.

I'm doing something wrong, because the engine doesn't start. How long should the selector be set to prime, and do I actually "hold" the selector in place? If yes, how is this done?

Thanks,

Can you identify each gauge, left to right?

Can you place your problems in the correct forum please? VRC has their own support forum here. Post your enquiries in it please. Trying to keep this place a little organized.

Can you try reading the manual? It is all right there on page 10.

I know they're in the manual. I asking if they're correctly identified in said manual.

These are great models, so no doubt Jerry cares.

I'm not sure though about gauges three and four. The manual says gauge three is an air flow meter, and gauge four is a reserve air gauge.

Doesn't the air flow meter go to zero when the brakes are charged? Gauge four would seem to be monitoring the brake cylinders.

On another note, I don't have any sound from the Conrail coal cars or the CSX cars. What should I look for?

Thanks,

Rob :D
