Got a first hand sneak peek at these fantastic locomotives. Many new features, great detail.
This is a quote from VRC:
CSX GP40-2 Mother and Slug set for TrainSimulator 2015.
Slugs are built to provide extra traction at low speeds. They have no prime-movers, so they are entirely dependent on electricity siphoned from the mother unit, but they have control stands so that the consist can be controlled from either end. Most slugs are used for low-speed applications such as yard switch and humping, and local switching duties.
Still some fine tuning before release.

These locomotives continue the fine detail and realistic operation that is expected from VRC.

Is this an additional purchase is what I am asking. But if you place the slug alone in the editor or QD it will not work as its scripted to the mother engine

Correct. It is scripted to use the power off the mother.

They'll be loads of fun around Hialeah Yard and possibly in Oak Point :D They can also be fun running locals along the old Northeast Corridor route.

Nice set along with a great looking cab for the GP30 which rivals the GP40-2 one done previously. Thanks for hard work on this!

Yeah, I like the spinning fans in the slug's cab. Airconditioning apparently wasn't fitted to these rebuilt.

I know this thread is over a month old but I didn't think it would be appropriate to create an entirely new topic for this one question. I was wondering if the Norfolk Southern mother and slug pack is still intended to be released. Thanks in advance! !!howdy!!

I do intend to release that one, and I think it is pretty much ready to go. Right now though i'm in the middle of beta testing on the U30C, so all other projects are on hold.

No hassle at all, sorry for the delay in releasing these. Finding out that wanting to make and release all this neat stuff and actually getting it finished and out to the masses are two entirely different beasts. !*hp*!
