It's Electric!

Unread postby nsl714 » Mon Jul 13, 2015 8:49 pm

I've long thought that the RWA would look great as a midwestern interurban, so in preparation/practice for placing poles on my own route, the line got electrified. Right now it's a single electric strand that runs from station to station, but I may keep going and wire up a good portion of the railroad.

Wish we had some Piedmont & Northern style electric freight locomotives.

Now if we could combine this mod with Wayne's Vegetation Mods we would be golden.

I will admit that with the Billiard Table-like profile of the RWA, it is relatively easy to propagate the poles over a given distance. So it is no big deal to repeat what I have done so far to produce images like what follows:

The Wire came from here: http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-info. ... leid=21191

The poles are being built by Bob of the Riverland Lines project. He's building a bunch of different ones for his and my purposes (primarily for the Riverland Lines and the CNS&M, my main project). It is likely they will be released with whichever route comes out first. At this point it looks like the Riverland Lines will be first.

Hope this helps.

I think you have your procedural flora setting disabled. You aren't getting the full effect of the new vegetation in these screenshots.

You are correct in that observation. I generally keep the procedural flora off. My settings aren't 100% max either.

Still, and this goes for everybody, it's perfectly OK to max the sliders for screen shots, then reset them for your regular operation.

We thought about putting in an interurban line when we first started the route but I guess it kinda got lost among all the other ideas. Brings back memories, Zach. Thanks!
